THE ENIGMA OF THE TRAMUNTANA

Hiking in group & guide, special Easter Week and Constitution festivities

Disfruta de la espectacular ruta GR221 a tu ritmo

The northwest of the biggest island of the spanish terriroty, Mallorca offers a quiet and traditional landscape far from busy touristic centers which are in the south of the island.

Emerging abruptly from the Mediterranean Sea, the fantastic 400m cliffs that extend up to more than 1000m in capricious ridges and large masses of limestone rock which form the spectacular relief of the wild Serra de Tramuntana.

Through the medieval paths that goes through the forest, along the coast and the mountains, we will find, spread everywhere, remains of ancient industries that will help us to understand the traditional jobs in the Serra, already lost in time. We will walk towards some of the highest peaks in the Serra, with the omnipresent view of the sea, or we will walk on the dry stone traditional terraces that treasure millenary olive trees or orange and lemon trees bathed in the sun. We will visit wonderful villages , towns and traditional ports of the Serra as well as remote pebbled coved with crystal clear waters where, if the weather is good, we can take a relaxing bath.

This is a trip where the comfort and strategic location of the accomodation in the picturesque village of Sóller is our main priority, as you will be located next to the best trekking routes in the spanish mediterranean.

Mountain route in Valldemossa
S'Arxiduc path

From the pretty mountain village of Valldemossa, we start the climb through the lush holm oak forest that connects with the extraordinary Archduke path (945m). The path was built in the purest traditional Mallorcan style,  by Archduke Luis Salvador of Austria (Habsburg) at the end of the 19th century, for the simple pleasure of enjoying the wonderful views that are offered to us up here: a bird’s eye view, the dramatic north coast on one side and the city of Palma with the Cabrera archipelago on the horizon, on the opposite side. An environment that overwhelms even the highest royalty.

Coastal route to Cala Tuent
Sa Costera path

The hiking route that goes from Sóller to Cala Tuent is probably the most beautiful excursion in terms of scenery along the entire Spanish Mediterranean coast. We first walk through the secluded Balitx valley, which has a strong olive tradition, until we overcome the mythical Biniamar pass (365m). Once past the pass, we enter the domains of the wild bay of sa Costera, dominated by the dramatic buttresses of the northern slope of the Moncaire mountain (839m), a real  spectacle of nature and Mediterranean landscape, the path becomes a pure delight for all the senses. We cross the bay from one end to the other to reach the next inlet and finish at the fabulous cove of Cala Tuent. We return by bus or boat to the port of Sóller, depending on the season of the year.

The hotel *** has modern facilities with many elements renovated in 2020. It has rooms that are equipped with all kinds of comforts, a seasonal outdoor pool with a solarium, mixed rooms, a bar and a restaurant.

The buffet-style breakfast at the hotel will surprise you with a variety of Mediterranean and international foods to choose from.

In the picnics, in addition to choosing the best natural environments with the best views of the island to eat, all the products we use to make the typical and delicious Pa amb Oli KMO (Mallorcan bread with tomato and extra virgin olive oil with different cheeses and cold cuts + fruit and some surprises) is from proximity.

We include all dinners with the hotel’s varied and tasty buffet except the day off, and on the last night we invite you to a restaurant outside the hotel, to a typical Mallorcan farewell dinner.
